Biography
Beginning her journey in the performing arts at just three years old, Jami quickly developed a lifelong passion for dance. As she grew, she took on leadership roles within the studio environment, working as a studio assistant, and later serving as an assistant choreographer and swing for college musical productions.
She graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2010 with a degree in Music Education, further strengthening her foundation in both performance and instruction. Following graduation, she directed and taught show choir at New Hope High School, sharing her enthusiasm for the performing arts with young performers.
In 2013, she began teaching studio dance full-time at Susan Allen School of Dance, where she spent the next six years, continuing to mentor and inspire students. She later expanded her leadership experience by running The Haley School of Performing Arts for two seasons. After years of dedication to arts education and performance, she transitioned into a new professional chapter in the insurance industry, joining Farm Bureau, where she continues to apply her leadership, communication, and organizational skills in a different capacity.
In 2023, she returned to the dance world to begin teaching tap at LDA, a meaningful opportunity to share her favorite dance style with the next generation. Tap has always held a special place in her heart, and she loves inspiring students to develop rhythm, musicality, and confidence.
Outside of the studio, she is a wife to Paul and a proud mom to Avonlea and Ford. Avonlea has been dancing with LDA since 2022 and is an active member of the competition team, making dance a cherished family connection both on and off the stage.
